Game Over is a UK gaming furniture brand — bean bags, footstools, cushions and accessories — all made in the Midlands. Their audience is dedicated gamers who want proper ergonomic comfort for long sessions, paired with standout colorways and a brand voice tuned to gaming culture.

The brief

Game Over came to us with a working Shopify store but a clear ambition to scale. The challenge was efficiency and reach — more from every ad pound, more channels feeding the top of funnel, and a properly automated email engine working around the clock.

The business had strong product and real manufacturing credibility, but the marketing and conversion stack hadn't caught up with the opportunity. That's where we came in.

Our approach

Over the 2021–2023 engagement we rebuilt the full commercial stack — a proper omnichannel programme instead of isolated tactics.

Conversion rate optimisation

  • Added Klarna and additional payment options to remove checkout friction on higher-ticket orders
  • Streamlined product pages, bundles, and variant selection for faster decision-making

Paid media

  • Full Google Ads restructure and ongoing optimisation — moving year-average ROAS from around 3× to 13×. For a brand with heavy Christmas seasonality, that's a serious result.

Email marketing

  • Integrated Klaviyo and built out a complete automation suite — welcome flows, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase, win-back. Email became a real revenue channel, not a newsletter afterthought.

New sales channels

  • Launched TikTok Shop to tap a gamer-native platform where their audience already lives
  • Implemented the Awin affiliate programme to scale acquisition through trusted partners on revenue share

Brand & awareness

  • Shot new product videos to replace stock-style imagery across the store and paid channels
  • Built a substantial influencer network via GRIN, scaling creator partnerships properly rather than one-off sponsorships
  • Attended gaming events in person — giving away bean bags as prizes to seed genuine word-of-mouth within the community

Seasonal campaigns

  • The Golden Ticket Christmas campaign — one of our most successful executions, driving gamified engagement during the highest-intent buying window of the year

Outcomes

  • 5× revenue growth across the engagement
  • Google Ads ROAS lifted from ~3× to ~13× (year-average)
